Delhi experienced much cooler weather on Friday after rain and strong winds affected several parts of the city a day earlier. The maximum temperature dropped significantly, falling by nearly 5°C compared to Thursday. On Friday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 35.8°C, while Thursday's maximum temperature had reached 40.5°C.

Delhi's Cool Weather
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted several rounds of rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds for Friday and issued a yellow alert for the city. However, no major rainfall was recorded at the IMD's weather stations until 5:30 p.m. Only a few areas received light showers during the early hours of the day.
Between midnight and 8:30 a.m., Palam recorded the highest rainfall at 2.9 mm. Other areas such as Pitampura, Pusa, and Mayur Vihar received 0.5 mm of rain each. Safdarjung, which is considered Delhi's main weather station, recorded only 0.1 mm of rainfall. Although the rainfall was limited, the cooler weather conditions helped bring down temperatures across the city.
The minimum temperature also dropped noticeably. On Thursday morning, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 26°C, which was almost 4°C lower than Wednesday's minimum temperature of 29.7°C. The fall in both daytime and nighttime temperatures provided residents with relief from the intense summer heat experienced earlier in the week.
Delhi Rain Alert
According to the IMD, similar weather conditions are likely to continue on Saturday. Very light to light rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds, is expected during the afternoon or evening hours. Because of these weather systems, temperatures are likely to remain moderate throughout the weekend.
The maximum temperature is expected to be between 35°C and 38°C, while the minimum temperature could fall further and remain between 24°C and 26°C.
