The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Bengaluru for the next three days due to the possibility of heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds. According to the weather department, pre-monsoon conditions are becoming stronger across the region, which could lead to severe weather in Bengaluru

and several parts of Karnataka. Residents have been advised to remain cautious, especially during periods of heavy rainfall and strong winds, as some areas may experience waterlogging and traffic disruptions. The warning comes after several districts in Karnataka witnessed intense rainfall over the past few days.
Bengaluru Rain Alert on 6 June
On June 6, Bengaluru recorded a temperature of around 23°C. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 29°C, while the minimum may stay around 21°C. Rainfall is likely during the afternoon, particularly between 3 PM and 4 PM. The city experienced heavy rain, thunderstorms, and even hailstorms on Thursday, bringing relief from the summer heat. However, the sudden change in weather also caused inconvenience for commuters.
Bengaluru's Rain Left Several Impacts
Heavy showers flooded several roads across Bengaluru, leading to traffic jams and delays during peak hours. Many residents were caught by surprise as dark clouds quickly covered the sky, followed by strong winds and intense rainfall in different parts of the city. In recent weeks, pre-monsoon showers have become more frequent across Karnataka, while Bengaluru has continued to witness a mix of hot weather and sudden thunderstorms.
Rain Alert in Karnataka
Meanwhile, the IMD has forecast heavy rainfall in Karnataka for the next four days. An orange alert has been issued for Bidar and Kalaburagi districts, while 19 districts in the southern and northern interior regions remain under a yellow alert. Fishermen have also been advised not to venture into the Arabian Sea and parts of the Bay of Bengal due to strong winds of 40-50 kmph, with gusts reaching up to 60 kmph. Authorities have urged all fishing boats to return to shore as a safety precaution.
