Mumbai and Delhi have made their mark on the global by ranking 24th and 37th respectively, among the world's wealthiest cities in 2024. the forefront of this list, New York City emerges as the top contender, boasting over 349,500 millionaires. The city's cumulative wealth surpasses a whopping USD 3 trillion, showcasing an economy stronger than many countries worldwide This insight comes from the 2024 World's Wealthiest Cities Report published by Henley & Partners, a firm specializing in wealth migration.

The report reveals an interesting statistic about New York City, where one in every 24 residents is a millionaire, playing a significant role in both the US and the global economy. Following New York, the Bay Area, which includes San Francisco and Silicon Valley, ranks second with 305,700 millionaires. Tokyo, Singapore, and London fill the next spots, highlighting their status as major financial hubs.

Interestingly, Dubai shines in the 21st position, with Monaco leading the charge in wealth per capita, having over 40% of its residents classified as millionaires. New York City also excels in this category, securing the second spot for wealth per capita.

Another key finding of the report is the significant shift in global wealth distribution. Cities like Shenzhen, China, and Bengaluru, India, have seen their millionaire populations skyrocket by 140% and over 100% respectively in the last decade. This growth is attributed to a strong performance in the financial markets, with global equities experiencing a 20% jump in 2023 and an additional 7% increase this year.

However, traditional financial centers such as London and Hong Kong have faced challenges, with London's millionaire population reducing by 10% over the past ten years due to the UK's exit from the European Union. Hong Kong has witnessed a 4% decrease in its wealthy residents, as many expatriates moved to Singapore amid China's strict pandemic measures.

The 2024 World Wealthiest Cities List demonstrates the dynamic nature of global wealth, with New York City leading the pack followed by the Bay Area, Tokyo, Singapore, and London. Mumbai and Delhi's presence on this prestigious list underscores India's growing influence on the international economic landscape.
