Starting in September, devotees can access the sacred Mount Kailash from India, marking a significant milestone for pilgrims seeking spiritual enlightenment.
Devotees will soon have a unique opportunity to visit Mount Kailash, the revered abode of Lord Shiva, from the Indian territory. The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has taken up the task of cutting a road from KMVN Huts in Nabhidhang, Pithoragarh district, to Lipulekh Pass on the India-China border. This new pathway, expected to be completed by September, will enable pilgrims to reach the sacred mountain with ease.
Vimal Goswami, Chief Engineer of BRO's Diamond Project, shared that the road-cutting work, covering approximately six and a half kilometers, is already underway. The anticipated 'Kailash View Point' along the road will offer pilgrims breathtaking vistas of the sacred mountain.
To ensure devotees experience the spiritual grandeur of Mount Kailash from this new vantage point, the Indian government has entrusted the Hirak Project with developing the 'Kailash View Point.' The ongoing efforts by BRO are making the journey to Mount Kailash from the Indian side more accessible and convenient.
Due to the Covid pandemic, the Kailash-Mansarovar yatra through the Lipulekh Pass had been postponed, causing disappointment for many pilgrims. However, the Indian government's determination to forge an alternative path has paved the way for a viable option for devotees to embark on their sacred pilgrimage to Mount Kailash.
