Delhi is expected to experience a slight rise in daytime temperatures on Thursday, but upcoming rainfall is likely to bring temperatures down again. The weather today will remain partly cloudy, with maximum temperatures ranging between 35°C and 37°C, and minimum temperatures between 18°C and 20°C.
Delhi Rain Alert on Friday & Saturday
As the city has begun April with some rainfall, Delhi is likely to receive continuous spells of rain starting Friday & Saturday, which may continue through the weekend, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The IMD has also issued a yellow alert for Saturday. Light rain or drizzle with thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds are likely. Wind speeds could range from 20 to 30 kmph, with gusts reaching up to 40 kmph, especially in the afternoon and evening.
Light to moderate rain may continue at intervals until around April 8 or 9. This weather change is due to the effect of two western disturbances approaching the region, one expected to arrive by Thursday and another early next week.
Delhi Weather Alert
On Wednesday, temperatures dropped slightly after several areas received good rainfall the previous day and during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday. Rainfall data show that Safdarjung did not record any rain early Wednesday morning, but Lodhi Road received 6.4 mm between late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. Similarly, Ridge recorded 2.6 mm, and Ayanagar recorded 6.8 mm of rain during the same period. However, there is no chance of rain today, April 2, 2026, and the IMD has predicted only partly cloudy skies.
While temperatures may rise slightly on Thursday due to cloudy skies, they are expected to fall again in the following days due to rain.
