The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Bengaluru, as the city is expected to receive heavy pre-monsoon rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds over the next three days. Weather officials stated that changing wind patterns and moisture from the Arabian Sea have created unstable weather conditions, which

are likely to bring intense rainfall and gusty winds across the city.
Bengaluru Rain Alert
According to IMD experts, several parts of Bengaluru may experience sudden heavy showers, lightning, and strong winds, especially during the evening and night hours. The weather department said that the rain activity is part of the ongoing pre-monsoon season in Karnataka. Similar conditions are likely to continue in many districts of South Interior Karnataka for the next few days. IMD forecasts also mention the possibility of lightning and squall-like winds along with heavy rainfall.
In recent weeks, Bengaluru and several other regions of Karnataka have already experienced heavy rain and hailstorms, with low temperatures, causing temporary disruptions in traffic and daily activities. Officials are continuously monitoring the situation and have urged citizens to follow weather updates regularly.
Advisory for Residents
Residents should stay alert and prepared for changing weather conditions, though no extreme emergency has been announced yet. Authorities have advised residents to remain careful while travelling, as waterlogging, traffic congestion, and fallen tree branches may affect normal life in many areas. People have also been warned to avoid staying near weak structures, electric poles, and large trees during thunderstorms. Authorities are expected to monitor rainfall patterns and issue further alerts if the weather becomes more severe.
