To help passengers travel comfortably during the busy summer season, the Ferozepur Division of Northern Railway is running eight pairs of Summer Special trains. These trains have been introduced to manage the heavy rush of travellers during summer holidays and provide confirmed seats to passengers who are unable to get
tickets on regular trains due to long waiting lists.
List of Summer Special Trains
The trains include the Amritsar-Katihar Summer Special (05736/05735), New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Special (04081/04082), Amritsar-Barauni Special (04610/04609), Pathankot-Chhapra Special (05193/05194), Amritsar-Kolkata Special (04624/04623), Ferozepur Cantt-Jhanjharpur Special (04620/04619), Ferozepur Cantt-Patna Special (04616/04615), and Amritsar-Jaynagar Special (04651/04652).
How will these Summer Special trains Benefit Passengers?
Railway officials said that passenger traffic usually increases during vacations, leading to overcrowding and longer waiting lists in many trains. To reduce inconvenience and make travel easier, the Railways decided to operate special trains. The aim is to offer passengers a more comfortable, smooth, and hassle-free journey during the holiday season.
Officials also said that the Railway Department is regularly monitoring passenger demand and train occupancy levels. Based on travel demand, necessary arrangements are being made to improve facilities and ensure passengers face fewer problems while travelling.
The operation of Summer Special trains has brought relief to many passengers looking for confirmed reservations. At present, eight pairs of special trains are running under the Ferozepur Division to improve connectivity and handle the extra travel rush.
According to Basant Kumar, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Northern Railway's Ferozepur Division, these trains have been started to provide better travel support to passengers during the summer season. With many families, students, and tourists travelling during holidays, the Railway hopes these additional services will reduce overcrowding and waiting lists.
