The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has started eight special feeder bus services to improve last-mile connectivity for passengers using the Namma Metro Yellow Line, which runs between RV Road and Bommasandra. These new services aim to make it easier for commuters to travel between metro stations and nearby residential
and commercial areas.
Feeder Buses to Serve Major Stations
These feeder buses will serve three important metro stations on the Yellow Line: Hosa Road, Singasandra, and Kudlu Gate. Many people living or working near these locations depend on public transport, and the new bus routes are expected to make their daily commute smoother and more convenient. By linking the metro stations with nearby neighbourhoods, offices, and marketplaces, the buses will help more people access the metro without needing private vehicles.
Feeder Buses Operations
According to the plan, the buses will run from 6:00 pm to 9:40 pm. During this period, services will operate at regular intervals to ensure passengers do not have to wait long. The frequency will vary between 15 and 30 minutes during peak hours, depending on the route and passenger demand.
How will these Feeder Buses Help Commuters?
BMTC officials said the feeder buses are designed for passengers who need a reliable way to reach metro stations from areas that are slightly farther away. This will also help reduce traffic congestion, as more commuters may choose public transport instead of personal vehicles.
