Indian Railways has decided to extend the operation of two special trains connecting Mangaluru with Surat and Ahmedabad until the end of May. However, the schedule for their regular services has not yet been finalised. According to officials from Konkan Railway and Southern Railway, the Surat-Mangaluru Junction bi-weekly special train
will now continue running until May 31 from Surat and until June 1 from Mangalore Junction.
Mangaluru-Surat Special Train
Train number 09057, which runs from Surat to Mangaluru Junction on Wednesdays and Fridays, was earlier planned to operate only until March 29. It will now run until May 31, completing a total of 18 trips. Similarly, train number 09058, which travels from Mangaluru Junction to Surat on Thursdays and Mondays, was earlier scheduled to run until March 30. This service has now been extended until June 1 and will also complete 18 trips.
Ahmedabad-Mangaluru Festival Special Train
Moreover, the Ahmedabad-Mangaluru Junction Festival Special trains have also been extended. Train number 09424, which runs from Ahmedabad Junction to Mangaluru Junction on Fridays, was earlier scheduled to operate until March 20. It will now continue its service until May 29, making a total of 10 trips. Likewise, train number 09423, running from Mangaluru Junction to Ahmedabad Junction on Saturdays, had its last trip on March 21. This train will now run until June 1 and will complete 10 trips in total.
These service extensions are made to help passengers travel more easily between these cities during the busy summer period.
