According to the shutdown schedule released for Friday, electricity supply will remain disrupted for durations ranging from one hour to nearly six hours in several residential colonies and nearby localities. Areas including Ayodhya Nagar, Shiv Nagar, Tilak Nagar, Kolua Village, Sonagiri, Salaia, Green Valley and Housing Board Extension are among the locations expected to be affected.

The maintenance work is being carried out to improve line safety, infrastructure stability and electricity distribution systems in various parts of Bhopal.

Major Areas Affected by Power Cut

Power Shutdown from 6 AM to 7 AM

Electricity supply is expected to remain suspended in:

  • Mahabali Nagar
  • Sainath
  • Maa Parvati Nagar and nearby areas

Power Cut from 8 AM to 12 Noon

The following localities are scheduled to face outages:

  • Green Valley
  • Kolua
  • Sagar Landmark
  • Radhakrishnapuram
  • Eco Green Park
  • Khejra Baramad and surrounding regions

Power Cut from 8 AM to 2 PM

Several major residential zones are expected to witness longer disruptions between 8 AM and 2 PM. These include:

  • Housing Board Extension
  • Ayodhya Nagar
  • Ayodhya Nagar G Sector and L Sector
  • Shiv Nagar
  • Ratnagiri
  • Shankari Campus
  • Kalpana Nagar
  • Sonagiri and nearby areas
  • Sulabh Complex
  • St Thomas School surroundings

Officials stated that tree-cutting operations and technical line work are being carried out in these zones.

Power Cut from 9 AM and 12:30 PM

Power supply is likely to remain affected in:

  • BDA Colony E-Sector
  • Salaia
  • Sankhedi and nearby localities
  • Petrol Pump area near BDA Colony

The shutdown has been scheduled for line maintenance operations.

Power Cut from 10 AM to 4 PM

A separate maintenance block will impact several residential colonies for nearly six hours. Areas include:

  • Tilak Nagar
  • Laxmi Complex
  • Chandrika Nagar
  • Priyadarshini locality
  • Fortune Glory Phase 1 and 2
  • Gujarati Colony
  • DK Cottage
  • Dream Glory
  • Lotus Phase-1 and nearby areas

Residents in these areas have been advised to complete important electricity-dependent work in advance.

Evening Shutdown Schedule

From 4:30 PM to 6 PM, power supply may remain affected in:

  • Around 40 slum areas
  • Prime Minister Housing Colony and adjoining regions

Why the Power Cut Has Been Scheduled

The electricity department has attributed the outages to ongoing:

  • Line maintenance work
  • Tree-cutting operations near power lines
  • Infrastructure upgrades
  • Technical line shifting activities

Officials said the shutdowns are necessary to ensure smoother and safer electricity distribution in the coming weeks.
