Southern Railway has announced a special train service between Mangaluru and Chennai, with two round-trips to handle the extra passenger rush during the Vishu festival season and provide additional travel options for passengers.

Mangaluru-Chennai Special Train
Train No. 06126 Mangaluru Central - Chennai Egmore Special will depart from Mangaluru Central at 4:00 pm on April 6 and April 13, Mondays. It will reach Chennai Egmore Railway Station at 10:30 am the following day. In the return direction, Train No. 06125 Chennai Egmore - Mangaluru Central Special will leave Chennai Egmore at 2:00 pm on April 7 and April 14, which are Tuesdays. It will arrive back at Mangaluru Central at 6:50 am the next morning.
Special Train Features
The train will consist of different types of coaches to suit the needs of various passengers, including two AC 2-tier coaches, eight AC 3-tier coaches, six sleeper class coaches, four general second-class coaches, and one luggage-cum-brake van.

This special train service is expected to ease travel during the busy festival period by offering more seats and reducing crowding on regular trains. It will also help passengers plan their journeys more comfortably during Vishu, when many people travel to celebrate the festival with their families.
