Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited has announced a temporary disruption in metro services on the Purple Line in Bengaluru due to scheduled maintenance work. On Sunday, April 5, metro services will be suspended for two hours between Majestic and Mysuru Road stations, from 7:00 am to 9:00 am. This work

will take place between Vijayanagar and Attiguppe stations and may cause inconvenience, especially for commuters who depend on this route early in the morning.
Usual Metro Operations on Other Sections
However, Bengaluru metro services on other sections of the network will continue to run as usual. Trains will start from their respective terminal stations at 7:00 am on routes such as Challaghatta to Mysuru Road, Majestic to Whitefield, Madavara to Silk Institute, and RV Road to Bommasandra. Authorities have stated that the maintenance work is necessary to ensure the safety and smooth functioning of metro services in the long run, and efforts are being made to reduce inconvenience to passengers.
Advisory for Commuters
Commuters have been advised to plan their travel and consider using alternative transport options during the affected hours to avoid delays and ensure smoother travel on Sunday morning.
Validity Extension of Student Bus Pass
Moreover, Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation has extended the validity of student bus passes for Classes 1 to 9 until April 10 to provide relief to students and parents. Earlier, these concessional passes were valid only until March 31, marking the end of the academic year. With this extension, students can continue using public buses without any interruption during the transition period before the new school session begins.
