The Union government has proposed a budget of Rs 26,000 crore for various road projects in Bihar. This announcement was made by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during her Budget speech for the fiscal year 2024-25. Finance Minister has announced three Expressways for Bihar state.
Development Initiatives in Bihar
In addition to road projects, the Centre plans to establish airports, medical colleges, and sports infrastructure in Bihar. These initiatives aim to boost the state's overall development and improve its connectivity and healthcare facilities.
Sitharaman mentioned that financial assistance for these projects would be sourced from multilateral development agencies. This approach is expected to ensure adequate funding and timely completion of the proposed infrastructure projects.
Plan 'Purvodaya' for Eastern States
The government has also introduced plan 'Purvodaya,' which focuses on the comprehensive development of Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh. This initiative aims to promote balanced regional growth and enhance economic opportunities in these states.
