Recently, the South Western Railway (SWR) decided to extend the services of several special trains in Karnataka because many people are travelling and there's a heavy rush at stations. Usually, these special trains were running for a limited period, but since passenger numbers remain high, the railways will continue them throughout February so that travellers don't face long waits or overcrowding.

Special Train Routes
These special trains run on key routes in the region, including connections between places like Kakinada and Mysuru, Narasapur and Bengaluru, and Hyderabad and Belagavi. The extension means these trains will operate additional trips in each direction until the end of the month. This helps clear crowds, gives travellers more options, and reduces pressure on regular trains.
Handle Passenger Rush
The decision to keep these services going was made considering the ongoing passenger rush, especially during and after festivals and holidays, when many people travel for family, work, or other reasons. By stretching the duration of the special services, the railways aim to make journeys smoother and safer for passengers.
Passenger's Response
Passengers have welcomed the move because it means more seats and fewer chances of being stranded at crowded stations. Many of these special trains were originally introduced to help with busy travel periods, and now that demand continues, the railway authorities feel it is necessary to keep them running for longer.
Moreover, the railways are making it easier for people to travel by keeping extra trains running longer so that the rush at stations and the pressure on other services is reduced.
