Indian Railways has decided to introduce two special trains between Secunderabad and Anakapalli. This decision was taken after a high-level Railway Board meeting held in Bhopal. Earlier, these trains were temporary Train-on-Demand services, but now they will operate as regular express trains, giving passengers more reliable travel options.

Secunderabad-Anakapalli Special Train
The Secunderabad-Anakapalli TOD Special, with 07041/07042, has now been converted into a regular express train with newly assigned numbers, 17043 and 17044. This weekly train will leave Secunderabad every Sunday at 9:00 pm and reach Anakapalli on Monday at 12:00 noon. On the return journey, it will depart Anakapalli on Monday at 5:35 pm and arrive in Secunderabad on Tuesday at 9:20 am. The train will have 20 modern LHB coaches and will stop at important stations like Charlapalli, Nalgonda, Guntur, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, and Samalkot.
Charlapalli-Anakapalli Special Train
Another train, the Charlapalli-Anakapalli TOD Special, with 07035/07036, has also been made a regular weekly express with new numbers 17045 and 17046. This train will run with 24 ICF coaches. It will leave Charlapalli on Saturdays at 8:05 pm and return from Anakapalli on Sundays at 5:35 pm. It will stop at major stations such as Jangaon, Kazipet, Warangal, Khammam, and Eluru.
Delay in Implementation
Although the plan was made in January 2026, it took about 3 months to implement due to necessary arrangements, including coach planning, scheduling, and ticket system updates. The choice of Bhopal for the meeting shows its importance as a central location for railway coordination.
While passengers welcome this decision, some people have suggested extending these trains to Visakhapatnam to meet higher travel demand.
