South Central Railway (SCR) has announced that it will run additional special trains for the Sankranti festival season to help passengers travel during the busy holiday period. These extra trains are being introduced because many people travel home or to other places between January 8 and January 12 for the

celebrations, and regular trains often get fully booked.
Special Trains to Run Between Major Stations
The special trains will run between several major stations, including Vikarabad, Kakinada Town, Parvathipuram, and Secunderabad. They will cover important routes that many travellers use during Sankranti. Each train will include different types of coaches such as 1AC, 2AC, 3AC, sleeper class, and general second class, giving passengers options based on their budgets and comfort needs.
How Will the Special Trains Benefit Passengers?
These extra services are meant to reduce overcrowding on regular trains and provide more seats for festival travellers, especially when demand is very high and tickets sell out quickly. The special trains will run on specific dates between January 8 and January 12, so passengers should check the timings and book tickets early.
By adding these trains, SCR hopes to make travelling more convenient and comfortable for people heading to their hometowns or visiting family and friends during Sankranti. Tickets for these trains have already been made available for booking.
