On Friday, October 24, over 110 areas across Tamil Nadu will experience power cuts due to regular maintenance work by the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO). The power supply will be interrupted for several hours in different districts, including Coimbatore, Erode, Karur, Mettur, Pudukottai, Palladam, and Udumalpet.
List of Areas to be Affected in Tamil Nadu
• In Coimbatore, power will be disrupted from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM in places such as Thomas Park, Kamarajar Road, Racecourse, Avinashi Road (from Anna Statue to Collectorate), Trichy Road (from Kannan Department Store to Ramanathapuram Signal), and Puliyakulam Road (from Sungam to Vinayagar Temple).
• In Erode, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, power cuts will affect the following areas: Vendipalayam, Konavaikal, Moolagoundanpalayam, Kollampalayam, Housing Unit, Nochikathuvalasu, Solar, Solarpudur, Nagaratchi Nagar, Jeevanagar, Pokuvarathunagar, and the surrounding areas.
• Karur will also experience outages from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in regions such as Sidco, Sanapirati, Narikattiyur, Tamil Nagar, Uppidamangalam, Velayuthampalayam, Vennaimalai, Vangal, and several neighboring villages.
• In Mettur, areas such as Arurpatty, Poosariyur, Jalakandapuram, Malayampalayam, Sowriyur, and Kattampatty will face a power cut between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
• For Palladam, power will be shut from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM in Pongalur, Petthampalayam, Thottampatty, Ellapalayampudur, and Alagumalai.
• In Pudukottai, the complete areas of Old Gandarvakkottai, Adhankkottai, Mangalakoil, and Kunnandarkoil will face outages between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
• Finally, Udumalpet and nearby locations, including Madathukulam, Krishnapuram, Pappankulam, Kaniyur, and Senkandipudur, will also experience power cuts from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
This power maintenance is aimed at improving electricity supply reliability across the state.
