Railway accidents can have a variety of reasons, such as human mistakes, equipment failure, and infrastructure issues. Although the cause of the Coromandel Express disaster in this instance is not yet known, investigations are being conducted to find out.

Railway officials had earlier stated that it was still unclear as to whether the Coromandel Express first derailed before striking the parked train after entering the loop line or vice versa. It is to be noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also reached at the site where this deadliest accident happened.
