IndiGo is enhancing air travel in India's East and Northeast with eight new flights in its winter schedule. This includes unique routes like Agartala to Dibrugarh and Guwahati to Dimapur, plus more international flights from Kolkata to Bangkok. These changes aim to boost tourism, trade, and cultural exchanges.
New Routes and Increased Connectivity
Starting October 29, 2024, IndiGo will offer exclusive tri-weekly flights between Agartala and Dibrugarh. This marks the first direct flight between these Northeastern cities, catering to both business and leisure travellers. The route provides a more convenient travel option for passengers.
From December 10, 2024, daily flights will connect Guwahati and Dimapur. Additionally, direct service between Guwahati and Ahmedabad will resume. These changes are expected to enhance economic growth by improving mobility for residents and visitors alike.
Boosting International Travel
IndiGo is also increasing the frequency of its Kolkata-Bangkok flights to four times a week starting November 24, 2024. This adjustment responds to high demand and aims to attract more tourists while strengthening connections between eastern India and Southeast Asia.
The airline's efforts in connecting Agartala and Dibrugarh are noteworthy, marking a significant milestone in regional connectivity. These new routes aim to facilitate economic collaboration within the Northeast by linking cities known for their unique landscapes and commercial importance.
