Know How Noida International Airport Takes Center Stage in the 2024-25 Budget

The Uttar Pradesh government has set aside a substantial sum of Rs 1,150 crore for the development of the upcoming Noida International Airport in Gautam Buddha Nagar, according to the state's 2024-25 budget announced by Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna. During the budget presentation in the state assembly on Monday, Khanna unveiled the allocation, highlighting plans for the establishment of the airport in Jewar, Gautam Buddha Nagar district.

Khanna expressed confidence in the ongoing progress of phase one of the Noida International Airport, scheduled for commercial operations by the year's end. He underscored the significance of the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya, which has already commenced operations, making Uttar Pradesh the only state in India with five international airports.

The finance minister stressed the government's commitment to enhancing air connectivity across the state, pointing to initiatives like the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS-UDAN) and the Civil Aviation Promotion Policy. Notably, there has been a remarkable 19.2% increase in air travelers this fiscal year compared to the previous one.

Khanna also highlighted the development of airports in various regions of Uttar Pradesh, including Aligarh, Azamgarh, Moradabad, Shravasti, and Chitrakoot. Ongoing efforts are underway for airports in Mayorpur (Sonbhadra) and Sarsawa (Saharanpur). Additionally, there is a proposal for a Rs 150 crore investment for the expansion of the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya.
