Several parts of Chennai, especially in the Minjur and Teynampet areas, will experience a power shutdown on Wednesday, November 26. This interruption is due to the routine maintenance and repair work planned by the Tamil Nadu Electricity Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO). Officials have said that these works are necessary
to ensure a stable electricity supply in the coming days.
Power Cut in Teynampet
In Teynampet, many well-known roads and residential localities will be affected. These include Bose Garden, TV Road, Jayammal Road, Ilango Road, Bose Road, Rajakrishna Road, Eldams Road, Periyar Road, Kamaraj Road and Street, and Seethammal Colony. Other affected areas are KB Dasan Road, Bharathiar Street, Bhakthavachalam Street, Appudurai Street, TTK Road, Cathedral Road, JJ Road, Parthasarathy Pettah, Parthasarathy Garden, KR Road, George Avenue, SSI Road, HD Raja Street, ARK Colony, parts of Anna Salai, Venus Colony, and Murrays Gate Road.
Power Shutdown in Minjur
In Minjur, the outage will affect Meenjur City, TH Road, Siruvakam, Surya Nagar, the BDO Office area, Vannipakkam, Seemavaram, RR Palayam Arianvayal, Pudupedu, Nandiyambakkam, Melur, Patta Mantram, Vallur, Athipattu, SR Palayam, GR Palayam, Kondakarai, and Pallipuram.
Egmore Areas Affected
In Egmore, areas like Egmore High Road, Gengu Reddy Street, Veerasamy Street, Perumal Reddy Street, Jagathamammal Kovil Street, MS Nagar, Chetpet, Patheoan Road, Marshal Road, Ethiraj Road, Motilal Lane, the Old Commissioner's Office area, and Judges' Quarters will also face outages.
Timing of the Power Outage
The scheduled power cut on November 26 will be from 9 am to 2 pm, lasting around five hours. TANGEDCO has promised to restore power earlier if the maintenance work finishes ahead of time.
