The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has introduced a special Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train package for people who want to visit important religious places in South India. This initiative is taken to offer passengers a smooth and comfortable travel experience by covering several holy destinations in one trip.
Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train to Promote Religious Tourism in South India
This initiative is part of IRCTC's efforts to promote religious tourism in India by offering affordable and well-organised tour packages. The train will run from April 11 to April 22, 2026, and the entire journey will last 11 nights and 12 days. The trip will start from Gorakhpur Railway Station, with boarding and deboarding available at multiple stations along the route, including Mankapur, Ayodhya Cantt, Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj, Rae Bareli, Lucknow, Kanpur Central, Orai, Jhansi, and Lalitpur.
Major Pilgrimage Sites to Cover
During the journey, passengers will visit major pilgrimage sites including Tirupati Balaji Temple, Ramanathaswamy Temple, Meenakshi Temple, Kanyakumari, and Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga. The package includes temple visits, sightseeing, and guided tours, making it suitable for both devotees and tourists.
Types of Class Along with Prices
IRCTC is offering three travel options. The Economy Class (Sleeper) costs ₹24,790 for adults and ₹23,400 for children, including sleeper travel, non-AC stay, and transport. The Standard Class (3AC) costs ₹42,530 for adults and ₹40,900 for children, with an AC hotel stay. The Comfort Class (2AC) costs ₹56,710 for adults and ₹54,750 for children, offering AC travel, stay, and transport.
Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train Package Inclusions
All packages include train tickets, accommodation, vegetarian meals, and local sightseeing. Bookings are available on a first-come, first-served basis through the IRCTC website or its office in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. Passengers can also use EMI and LTC options to make the trip more affordable.
