Ahmedabad to Get India’s Largest Shopping Mall by UAE's Lulu Group, Will Create 3,000 Jobs

Lulu Group International is all set to build what is being called "India's largest shopping mall" in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Lulu Group, based in Abu Dhabi, owns and operates a chain of shopping malls, known for attracting many visitors in major Indian cities. Currently, Lulu Malls are present in six cities across India: Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Lucknow, and Thiruvananthapuram.

Ahmedabad to Get India s Largest Mall

Last year, Lulu Group announced its plans to open 12 new malls across India, with six malls and a five-star hotel planned for Uttar Pradesh cities like Noida, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, Kanpur, and Prayagraj. The total investment in Uttar Pradesh alone is estimated to be ₹4,500 crore.

Now, Gujarat will be the next state to get a Lulu Mall, which is expected to be the biggest of all. Lulu Group has announced a $480 million mall project in Ahmedabad and is set to create 3,000 jobs.

Ahmedabad's Upcoming Mega Mall

According to reports from ANI in September 2023, Yusuff Ali, Chairman of Lulu Group, revealed plans for two massive shopping mall projects in India - one in Ahmedabad and the other in Chennai. The Ahmedabad mall is expected to be the largest in India. Ali mentioned that the group had already secured the land for the project and was receiving full support from the central government and the Ministry of Commerce.

The estimated cost of the Ahmedabad mall is ₹4,000 crore, and construction is set to begin in 2024. Ali expressed happiness about investing in India and providing employment opportunities to the local population. "This is one of the biggest projects we have started. It is about 3,50,000 sq ft, and 3,000 young boys and girls are working here. I am very happy to give employment to my fellow citizens," he told ANI.

Malls in Six Indian Cities:
